Childsplay (photo by Colin O'Brien) is an interactive journey through outdoor games across the ages. It happened OUTSIDE in Normand Park, Lillie road, North Fulham, W14 9PA opposite Clem Attlee estate. Audience members had the opportunity to get involved in outdoor games during this 70 minute promenade show!
The first picture by Alison Neighbour shows Natasha Hill surrounded by Nicholas Ako, Jamie Oliphant, Aaron Gordon and Josh Allen. The second picture by Amy Waitt shows Nicholas Ako pushing Jamie Oliphant.
The show had some lovely reviews. British Theatre Guide says ‘a sort of illustrated lecture - but what an entertaining one! There is nothing boring about this show'. For the full review click here
Total Theatre says ‘ Open spaces, and a childlike defiance of the cold are both things we should strive to maintain. Nostalgia isn’t often thought-provoking – but sometimes it can be.‘ For the full review Click Here
Audience Club gave it *****, saying, 'Led by 5 very enthusiastic actors playing 12 year olds from the '50's, '60's, '80's and '90's (apparantly nothing happened in the '70's) we sampled a number of games. Some we knew and some we learned, but we enjoyed them all hugely... Cleverly coordinated by a soundtrack listened to on borrowed MP3 players, this was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.'
There are some exciting features about it from H and F chronicle and London Councils. It was part of The Independent’s Critic’s Choice in their Childrens’ section and The Guardian also recommended it for viewing, as did BBC news .
Childsplay is supported by Arts Council England, London Councils, H & F parks and culture, RBKC youth services and BBC Children in Need.
